I am finally getting around to sharing our sweet girl’s first birthday party (thanks to this new blog, yay). The day was a complete whirlwind, and I am so thankful we decided to host it the day before her actual birthday. If I could leave you with one piece of advice from this post, do not have your babes first party on the day of their birthday. I did this on my sons first birthday and found myself in an emotional mess that evening, realizing everything went by in a flash and I not once got to sit and just enjoy him, marvel over him, and spend precious quality time. Thankfully I learned from that mistake 😉 So as expected, her party was indeed a true whirlwind. Her birthday is the day before Halloween, and the venue we held her party at was incidentally filled with a horde of tiny people looking for candy due to a halloween event. Parking was a mess, and trying to setting up was all sorts of crazy.. but we pulled it off and the vision came true.
In true “me-fashion”, I procrastinated and waited until last minute to pull all the details together, but a few of the main, very cherished pieces, I managed to gathered well ahead to the big day. I adore supporting small and found some amazing shops that helped us make Caia’s first birthday that much more special. (for all vendors see below)
Of course the inspiration and theme for the party came from our little miss herself. Her whimsical, sweet nature that’s seasoned with a dash of wild inspired our “floral-boho-whimsy party” (and if you know me, you very well would have expected macrame to be featured in a few places)
It was the most beautiful day celebrating the little girl that is full of magic and love.
